My First Assignment:
Do you sympathise with The Joker?I do not sympathise with The Joker. He is a psychotic killer. He even mentioned that the people of Gotham will die one by one each day if Batman does not reveal his identity. Clearly, he must have to be psychotic and mad to actually think that murdering is a leisure sport.
The second reason why I do not sympathise with Joker is that he is very cunning. He even killed his own men so that he can get what he wants. In the movie, he drove in and killed his men just to get the money and lure Batman. I thought that was very cruel of him and a cruel man does not deserve to be sympathised.
Lastly, his joke is why I do not sympathise with him. He made a joke that he was going to make the pencil disappear. The pencil did disappear but that was through stabbing Gambol with it . " Ta-da! It's... it's gone. Oh and about the suit. It wasn't cheap. You oughta know: you bought it"that dialogue he made proves he is a mad man. Even before killing him, he treated that as a magic trick. That was definitely pure evil.
A psychotic, cruel man definitely does not deserve to be sympathised.
What have you learnt from the lesson?I have learnt how impressions are formed. Through speech, appearance, relationships with others, actions and backgrounds, the first impression is formed. This lesson also tells me that although villains are evil, they may have valuable traits that we do not noticed and we must always learn how to analyze the characters so that it can help us to better understand the movie or story. Also, I learnt to look at things from different angles and not just from one perspective. In life, many times, we tend to judge one by it's personality, it's appearance and stuff like that. We need to know that people may look ugly but is a very kind person; people may look pretty but may be evil. That was just an example. My point being that we should never judge a book by its cover. Many people have different views and we just got to accept the different opinions and try to change or we try to convince the other party. That is one point to note when we ourselves receive comments or opinions from each other as the whole thing is to learn from each other(:
